5 Industries That Are Advertising Like Crazy

What is one industry that is advertising on a large scale, and what is fueling this growth in ad dollars?

To help you note the spike in advertising within particular industries, we asked marketing professionals and business leaders this question for their best insights. From the financial services and crypto to the health beverage industry, there are several notable sectors of business that came up as pumping more money into advertising in response to various triggers.

Here are five industries that are advertising on a large scale:

  • Financial Services and Crypto
  • The Soda Industry
  • Home Delivery Apps
  • Car Manufacturers
  • The Health Beverage Industry

Financial Services and Crypto

There’s been a big rise in cryptocurrency investing. We’re living in an era of increased awareness about digital currencies, and so many want to be a part of it. Also, thanks to inflation, people are looking for ways to maximize their hard-earned dollars. Companies like FTX, Crypto.com and Coinbase were among the list of first time advertisers for the 2022 Super Bowl. They’re doing all they can to reach more people with integrated marketing strategies.

The Soda Industry

The soda industry is fuelling its advertising efforts with the goal of increasing sales as more and more people become aware of the health risks associated with drinking sugary beverages.

A study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that beverage companies spent $US147 million ($A208 million) on advertising and marketing for sugary drinks in 2009. That’s about $US5.46 ($A7.59) per person. And it’s a number that’s likely gone up in the years since. The aim of this advertising is to convince people that drinking sugary drinks is a normal, everyday activity, and not something that should be consumed in moderation or avoided altogether if you want to stay healthy.

Home Delivery Apps

Home delivery apps are marketing their presence in a big way with ads on TV, online and on mobile with social media. It is rare to go on a device without encountering a promotion from any one of the many delivery services that are available in mobile app stores.

Mobile delivery apps are largely still in their first 5 years of mainstream consumer use and while there are a few dominant players, the market is fluid and ripe for disruption. Delivery app companies are pumping ad dollars into every available medium in order to capture market share and consumer attention while the rest of the field is still taking shape.

Car Manufacturers

There are dozens upon dozens of car manufacturers that market their vehicles and sell them on the global market. There is no longer a “Big 3” in Detroit, and European luxury and Asian dependability have long had strongholds in the global marketplace. What fuels the growth in ad dollars? Technology and aftermarkets. Technology in autos evolves at the same pace as smartphone technology; new GPS, heated seats, rear cameras, keyless entry, and on and on.

With every new model there are a host of technological advancements that need to be communicated and leveraged in the market. New generations of car buyers come into the market every year, and every year they demand the latest in developments. Also, autos have a huge aftermarket. They are sold and resold several times over. This creates a lot of revenue that can then feedback into the marketing budgets. People have more money than ever, and their buying power is significant.

The Health Beverage Industry

The beverage industry is advertising on a large scale, and several factors are fueling this growth. For one, people are increasingly health-conscious and are looking for ways to improve their diets. This has led to a demand for healthier options, which the beverage industry has responded to with products like vitamin-infused waters and green juices. In addition, fitness culture has exploded in recent years, with more and more people looking to adopt active lifestyles. This has created a need for convenient workout drinks that can help people refuel after a workout or stay hydrated during exercise.
