Entries Manager – 2025 Spectrum Awards
AMA Phoenix is looking for two (2) Marketing professionals with an interest in joining the Board as a Volunteer. This position requires (4) hours per month of your time, and will be reporting to the President-Elect. Spectrum Entries Volunteers will be responsible for managing the 2025 Spectrum Award entry process.
Expectations and Duties:
- Manage award entry process.
- Organizing entries into folders and files to prepare for judging.
- Will follow up with all applicants to ensure all documents are submitted in a timely manner
- Assist in the production and presentation of How to Enter the Spectrum Award video series. (June-December) Will communicate the process with all interested applicants.
- Communicates with other Spectrum committee members as needed to meet KPIs.
- Include or inform the President-Elect of all significant changes in area of responsibility.
- Attend all Spectrum Awards committee meetings.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a marketing related field of study.
- Need to have flexibility to follow up with quick turnarounds/deadlines.
- Proficient with Google Suite, specifically Google Sheets, files, and folders. Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, files, and folders.
- Proficient with G-Suite, Click-Up (Slack preferred)
- Must attend the Spectrum Awards ceremony – can help to set up, tear down, etc.

Sponsorship Manager – 2025 Spectrum Awards
AMA Phoenix is looking for (1) Awards Sponsor professional with an interest in joining the Board as a Volunteer. This position requires approximately (4) hours a month June-December, and approximately (16) hours per month January-May, and will be reporting to the VP of Sponsorship. The Spectrum Awards Sponsorship Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing sponsors of the 2025 Spectrum Awards.
Expectations and Duties:
- Coordinates with the VP of Sponsorship to develop, update, and maintain all materials necessary to support recruitment of sponsors.
- Coordinate with other committee members as needed to meet KPIs.
- Make sure all sponsors are aware of their benefits and reminded of their benefits.
- Ensure sponsors receive benefits in a timely manner.
- Include or inform the committee head of all significant changes in area of responsibility.
- Attend all Spectrum Awards committee meetings.
- Send out thank you notes to each sponsor after 2023 Spectrum Awards are over.
Requirements:
- Background in event sponsorship (1-2 years)
- Has the flexibility to follow up with quick turnarounds/deadlines
- Proficient with G-Suite and Project Management Tools (Trello preferred)
- Must attend the Spectrum Awards ceremony – can help to set up, tear down, etc.

Fundraising Activity Manager – 2025 Spectrum Awards
AMA Phoenix is looking for (1) Spectrum Fundraising Activity Planner professional with an interest in joining the Board as a Volunteer. This position will require approximately 5 hours a week of your time (20 hour per month), and will be reporting to the VP of Sponsorship, with a dotted line to the Spectrum Chair. The Spectrum Fundraising Activity Planner will be responsible for building and managing a silent auction for our annual Spectrum Awards event in May 2023. This person will be responsible for overseeing donations for the events and managing the event itself day of, in addition to managing any volunteers needed to make this event successful.
Expectations and Duties:
- Reach out to cold/warm leads to acquire donations for the event
- Coordinate with the Spectrum Committee to develop fundraising goals and other event objectives
- Lead all planning and execution of the silent auction and other fundraising events
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in Events Planning and/or fundraising activities
- Comfortable with making sales call to acquire donations
- Ability to work independently within a team environment and to manage and prioritize tasks effectively
- Comfortable using technology and able to learn new programs/tools quickly. Proficiency in using Google Drive, Microsoft Office, etc. is highly desirable.

Graphic Design Chair
AMA Phoenix is looking for a Graphic Design professional with an interest in joining the Communications Committee as a Volunteer. This position only requires 6-10 hours per month of your time, and will be reporting to the Director of Brand. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing and designing graphics for social media, web pages, and other marketing materials as needed.
Expectations and Duties:
- Develops graphics to promote monthly programming, to be used on the AMA Phoenix website, Eventbrite, social media sites, and in email marketing.
- Follows the AMA Style Guide
- Routinely communicates with Communications committee members about timelines and availability
- Works closely with the Director of Brand to ensure all designs adhere to overall AMA guidelines and are in-line with AMA Phoenix’s messaging
- Works cross functionally with other committees creating graphics as needed for various event promotions, webinars, etc.
Requirements:
- A background in graphic design, with a portfolio or work samples that you can present for consideration
- Proficiency working with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and WordPress
- Experience working with Print vendor and preparing files for print
- Weekday availability is essential – project deadlines may fall on any day of the week
- Must already be a member of AMA Phoenix or are able to procure membership prior to joining
- Ability to attend regular committee meetings
- Exceptional communication and attention to detail

Event Planning Chair
The Event Planning Chair is a vital member of the Programming Committee, responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of event hospitality for AMA Phoenix. This includes sourcing venues, arranging contracts, finalizing event details, and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees. The Event Planning Chair will work closely with various teams, including the Board, Marketing and Communications, Membership, and Sponsorship, to deliver successful events that align with the organization’s goals.
The Hospitality Chair is expected to dedicate the time necessary to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above, which may vary depending on the event schedule. Attendance at monthly Programming Committee meetings is required.
This volunteer position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of AMA Phoenix events while developing valuable skills in event management and hospitality.
Responsible for:
- Sourcing venue/s for Programming events, meetings and networking
- Coordinating agreements/contracts for venues in preparation for final signature by President, President-Elect or Treasurer
- Finalizing details for event venues, such as dates, times, headcount, set up, AV, wifi, seating
- Primary contact, lead for meeting venues
- Arranging F&B based on venue and event requirements
- Insuring that event pricing can reasonably cover costs of venue and F&B based on average attendance at a minimum (additionally confirm any discounts offered)
- Setting up or overseeing event registration system with accurate date, location, pricing details
- Tracking registration numbers for in-person and webinar events, reporting to Programming VP the registration numbers 30 days, 14 days, 7 days from the event, to boost promotion/communication above the regular communications plan
- Recruiting, confirming and training volunteers for event registration at all events, meeting and providing instructions and registration materials for each event
- Tracking and reporting data for each event (attendees – members vs non-members), submitting non-member names and contact info to Membership for follow up
- Executing a post-event survey, sending a survey report to VP Programming for forwarding to the Board
- Reporting: Event data to Exec Cmte and VP Programming: Analysis of registration and attendee data, attend monthly Programming Committee meetings.

- Strong organizational and project management skills

Chair of Membership Acquisition
AMA Phoenix is looking for a Chair of Membership Acquisition with an interest in joining the AMA as a Volunteer. This position requires (8-12) hours per month of your time, and will be reporting to the VP of Membership. The Chair of Membership Acquisition will be responsible for leading membership recruitment efforts on an individual and group level, developing recruitment plans, and growing the AMA Phoenix chapter’s overall membership.
Expectations and Duties:
- Lead and execute recruiting efforts to drive member acquisition through the chapter’s various programs.
- Develops and updates recruitment plans and marketing campaigns in conjunction with AMA membership drives.
- Recruits companies for AMA group membership.
- Will manage chapter data including but not limited to prospect lists in conjunction with other Board members as appropriate.
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office and G-suite
- Coordinate with other committees and committee members as necessary to achieve organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum of (2) years overall marketing experience, preferably with a focus on program management, account services, or business development.
- Must be able to commit 2-4 hours per week ensuring that KPIs are being met.

AMA Phoenix is looking for a Chair of Engagement & Retention with an interest in joining the AMA as a Volunteer. This position requires (8-12) hours per month of your time, and will be reporting to the VP of Membership. The Chair of Engagement and Retention will be responsible for leading membership engagement and retention efforts on a member-to-member basis, developing retention plans, and growing the AMA Phoenix chapter’s overall membership engagement efforts.

VP of Collegiate Relations
AMA Phoenix is looking for a VP of Collegiate Relations to join the board as a Volunteer. This position will require approximately 1-2 hours a week of your time and will be reporting to the AMA Phoenix President. The VP of Collegiate Relations will be responsible for representing AMA Phoenix to the local student chapters and encouraging membership post-graduation. The VP of Collegiate will act as a mentor to AMA student members and will work cross functionally with other AMA Phoenix committees to provide resources and programming to the student chapters.
Expectations and Duties
- Develops and takes ownership of the collegiate plan, budget, and metrics reporting
- Communicates with collegiate leadership to ensure collegiate members understand the benefits of AMA Phoenix membership in conjunction with their collegiate membership
- Encourages collegiate participation in AMA Phoenix events and programming. Tracks student participation in the chapter.
- Communicates to non-AMA colleges on the benefits of starting a collegiate program and helps execute the new program(s) and connects them with appropriate Support Center resources and contacts
- Continually works to recruit and retain students’ post-college to continue with an AMA membership. Working with the Membership committee when applicable.
- Creates and organizes collegiate programming during the board year
- Develop mentorship program for AMA Student Chapters
- Work with the Faculty Advisors to ensure Student Chapters have the necessary resources.
Requirements
- Must be a current AMA Phoenix member, or be willing to obtain membership
- Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related professional experience preferred
- 7+ years of experience on Marketing
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally, coordinating across a large, dynamic organization with multiple board members and committees
- Ability to attend monthly board meetings and weekly/bi-weekly committee meetings
