DIGITAL MARKETING CHAIR

AMA Phoenix is looking for an SEO professional with an interest in joining AMA Phoenix as a Volunteer. This position will require 6-8 hours per month of your time, and will be reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications. The Digital Marketing Chair will be responsible for keeping up with SEO best practices and communicating opportunities to the MarCom team. 

 

Expectations and Duties:

  • Regularly review and report on key performance indicators using Google Analytics (GA4) and other tools.
  • Regularly work with the MarCom team to implement and maintain high-quality SEO policies and optimize website content, social media content, etc.
  • Review all AMA Phoenix content and ensures SEO is optimized across all digital platforms.
  • Help with website updates

 

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in an SEO/SEM related field
  • Experience working with and reporting in Google Analytics (GA4)
  • Must already be a member of AMA Phoenix or are able to procure membership prior to joining
  • Ability to attend regular committee meetings
  • Exceptional communication and attention to detail

GRAPHIC DESIGN CHAIR

AMA Phoenix is looking for a Graphic Design professional with an interest in joining the Marketing & Communications Committee as a Volunteer. This position only requires 4-6 hours per month of your time, and will be reporting to the VP, Marketing & Communications. The Graphic Design Chair  will be responsible for developing and designing graphics for social media, web pages, print materials, and other marketing materials as needed. 

 

Expectations and Duties:

  • Develops graphics to promote monthly programming, to be used on the AMA Phoenix website, Eventbrite, social media sites, and in email marketing.
  • Follows the AMA Style Guide
  • Routinely communicates with the Marketing & Communications committee members about timelines and availability
  • Works closely with the VP, Marketing & Communications to ensure all designs adhere to overall AMA guidelines and are in-line with AMA Phoenix’s messaging
  • Works cross functionally with other committees creating graphics as needed for various event promotions, webinars, etc. 

Requirements:

  • A background in graphic design, with a portfolio or work samples that you can present for consideration
  • Proficiency working with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and WordPress
  • Experience working with print vendor and preparing files for print
  • Weekday availability is essential – project deadlines may fall on any day of the week
  • Must already be a member of AMA Phoenix or are able to procure membership prior to joining
  • Ability to attend regular committee meetings

VICE PRESIDENT OF MARCOM

AMA Phoenix is looking for a Marketing/Communications professional to join the board as a Volunteer. This position will require approximately 4 hours a week of your time (depending on the time of year) and will be reporting to the AMA Phoenix President. The VP of MarCom will be responsible for outlining and communicating all marketing and communications strategies for the AMA Phoenix Chapter while managing and delegating to a team of marketing and communications volunteers. 

 

Expectations and Duties:

  • Develops and takes ownership of the communications strategic plan, budget, and metrics reporting
  • Recruits, manages, and supports the team’s Graphic Designer, Web Content Creator, Videographer, Photographer, Social Media Specialists, Content Specialists, and Email Marketing Specialists to create a unified voice representative of the AMA Phoenix brand
  • Provides guidance and support to committee team members to fulfill committee goals and objectives
  • Uses AMA Brand Strategy Guide to inform the design and creation of content on all AMA Phoenix platforms
  • Develops and manages content calendar for social media campaigns, email communications, and blog content
  • Oversees workflows for social media and digital campaigns (email, newsletters, blog content, web content), keeping website current
  • Ensures committee members are on track with upcoming campaigns and resource requirements
  • Utilize analytics and data to improve effectiveness and efficiency of communications
  • Build, write and distribute chapter’s Newsletter, working with board to cultivate content
  • Assists in the execution of communications-related tasks
  • Collaborates with VP, Programming to ensure event-related communications strategy is developed and executed in a timely fashion
  • Collaborates with VP, Membership to develop member-related communications to ensure member engagement and updates

 

Requirements:

  • This is a “hands-on” board position – must be able to roll up your sleeves and get things done
  • Must be a current AMA Phoenix member or be willing to obtain membership
  • Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related professional experience. 
  • Experience with marketing/communications technology including email platforms, website CMS and social media
  • Strong project management skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to collaborate and delegate effectively to achieve chapter goals 
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, coordinating across a large, dynamic organization with multiple board members and committees
  • Ability to attend monthly board meetings, weekly/bi-weekly committee meetings and chapter events
  • Availability to commit, on average, 4 to 5 hours a week and the ability to be flexible

VICE PRESIDENT OF VOLUNTEERS

The VP of Volunteers will work closely with the board of directors to identify volunteer needs and ensure that the AMA Phoenix has the resources to achieve its goals

 

Expectations and Duties:

  • Work closely with the board of directors to identify volunteer needs and ensure the AMA Phoenix has the resources to achieve its goals.
  • Collaborate with the VP of MarComm to develop a volunteer marketing campaign.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Membership to engage new and existing members on the benefits of volunteering for the organization. 
  • Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies.
  • Identify and reach out to potential volunteers and respond to incoming volunteer inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers and ensure they feel valued and engaged.
  • Execute Volunteer of the month and year awards program.
  • Conduct volunteer onboarding covering AMA Phoenix mission, strategic plan, and platform tools.
  • Organize Annual Volunteer Appreciation event.
  • Screen all Volunteer applications from the AMA Phoenix website.
  • Interview potential volunteers and make recommendations to the board and committees and coordinate follow-up interviews.
  • Provides onboarding resources to all incoming volunteers.
  • Meet with VP’s and executive leadership to develop high-priority volunteer descriptions
  • Meets monthly with Volunteer & Career Development committee members to report on volunteer activities.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience conducting high-level interviews either in a recruitment or middle-management capacity
  • Available to take interview & onboarding meetings as needed during weekdays with potential and confirmed volunteers
  • Must be a member of AMA Phoenix or are able to procure membership prior to joining
  • Ability to attend regular committee meetings and monthly board meetings
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to commit to volunteering 3 to 4 hours a week

VICE PRESIDENT OF SPONSORSHIPS

The Vice President of Partnerships & Sponsorship is responsible for identifying Chapter needs that may be supported by corporate partnerships and sponsorship as well as coordinates programs to involve the business community in Chapter affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all Board meetings.
  • Prepare a preliminary budget and submit to the President.
  • Secure partnerships/sponsors to support events, including all processes associated with monetary sponsorships, in-kind services and the benefits afforded the chapter.
  • Search for and secure new annual sponsorship needs:
    • Includes revising/creating contract and collecting signed copy from sponsor.
    • Includes gathering high-res jpg. of logo from sponsor and giving to the appropriate individuals.
  • Search for meeting sponsorships for monthly luncheons:
    • Includes Speaker Sponsors (cash) for relevant programming/speaker partnership 
    • Includes Monthly Meeting Sponsors (in-kind) for added value to meeting attendees.
  • Collect logos for monthly meeting sponsors and give to VP Communication for postcard, VP Programs for the meeting PowerPoint, and Design Sponsor for creating ads to be placed in local media (includes specs for the ad).
  • Make sure all sponsors are aware of their benefits and reminded of their benefits. 
    • Includes reminding them of upcoming events and activities that they will be involved with (are a sponsor for) as well as inviting them to upcoming events.
    • Notify the Board, specifically MarCom of the chapter’s deliverables in the agreement, such as logo placement in communications and on website.
  • Send out thank you notes to each sponsor throughout the program year.
  • Develop and update Annual Sponsorship Plan.
  • Develop Sponsorship Committee 
  • Determine sponsorship levels and benefits for strategic partners and sponsorships.
  • Identify Chapter needs that may be supported by corporate partnerships/sponsorship and coordinate programs to involve the business community in Chapter affairs.
  • Develop, update, and maintain all materials necessary to support recruitment of partners and sponsors.
  • Develop prospect lists for both cash sponsorships and in-kind services with the assistance of committee members
  • Complete calls for the purpose of obtaining strategic partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Ensure partners/sponsors receive benefits in a timely manner.
  • Keep accurate records of all donations and in-kind support and report activity monthly to the Treasurer.
  • Work closely with VPs of Programming and Membership to find sponsorships for events.
  • Responsible for measuring sponsorship dollars and in-kind donations generated.

Requirements

  • Active chapter AMA membership (required).
  • Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related professional experience.
  • Sales and marketing background
  • Successful track record of building and leading a team
  • Ability to coordinate the diverse efforts of the organization for successful development
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Successful track record of building, motivating and managing a committee.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, coordinating across a large, dynamic organization with multiple board members and committees.
  • Ability to attend 1+ Ama Phoenix events per month, either in-person or virtual
  • Ability to attend monthly board meetings.

SPECTRUM CHAIR

AMA Phoenix is looking for an Event Planning professional interested in serving on our board as our  Spectrum Chair. This position requires 5-7 hours a week of time commitment, and must be available during and after working hours as needed. The Spectrum Chair will be responsible for the overall planning and execution of AMA Phoenix’s annual Spectrum Awards.

This person will provide leadership to the Spectrum committee, delegating tasks to committee members in order to hit deadlines. This person will be reporting directly to the President and President-Elect and will be working closely with all AMA Phoenix committees as needed. 

Expectations and Duties:

  • Lead a committee of volunteers to plan, strategize, and execute the Spectrum Awards event. Develop a project plan and timeline, assign tasks and responsibilities to committee members, and ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to ensure the financial success of the event. Identify and secure event sponsors, solicit donations, and coordinate silent auction items.
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and logistics. Work with committee members to create a memorable and engaging experience for attendees.
  • Develop and execute a marketing and promotion plan to ensure maximum attendance and participation in the event. Utilize social media, email marketing, and other channels to raise awareness and generate excitement about the event.
  • Work with the AMA Phoenix Board of Directors to develop the awards program, including award categories, criteria, and judging processes. Ensure that the awards program is fair, objective, and consistent with the mission and values of AMA Phoenix.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience planning and executing successful fundraising events is required. Experience in marketing, communications, or event planning is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and management skills are required. The Spectrum Award Chair must be able to motivate and inspire volunteers, delegate tasks effectively, and work collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate effectively with volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and other stakeholders. Strong writing and editing skills are also required.
  • Strong organizational skills are essential, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for marketing and a desire to recognize excellence in the field are essential. The Spectrum Award Chair must be committed to the mission and values of AMA Phoenix.

Venue Management Chair (Volunteer Role)

Committee: Programming Committee

Reports to: VP, Programming

Time Commitment: 1-hour virtual committee meeting per month, plus approximately 1–2 hours per week working remotely at your own pace

Overview:

The Venue Management Chair is responsible for identifying, securing and managing venues for AMA Phoenix’s in-person events, including panel discussions, workshops and networking mixers. This volunteer role ensures that event locations align with the organization’s goals, audience expectations and budget. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event planning, an eye for detail and strong communication skills.

This role is a key contributor to the success of AMA Phoenix events and offers a valuable opportunity to build experience in hospitality, logistics and event production.

Key Responsibilities:

Venue Sourcing and Booking:

  • Research, identify and recommend suitable venues for upcoming events based on event goals, audience size and budget
  • Conduct virtual or in-person venue walkthroughs, as needed
  • Negotiate venue contracts and secure dates

Venue Coordination and Logistics:

  • Serve as the main point of contact between AMA Phoenix and venue representatives
  • Coordinate venue-specific logistics such as seating arrangements, A/V requirements, parking, signage and catering needs
  • Ensure venues are accessible, professional and cost-effective

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other programming committee members to understand event needs and timelines
  • Partner with other members of the programming committee to ensure seamless day-of execution
  • Provide timely venue updates to the VP of Programming and programming team

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain an organized Google sheet of vetted venues, including capacity, amenities, pricing and contact information
  • Collect feedback post-event to refine future venue selections

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Event Planning Experience: Prior experience sourcing or managing venues or event logistics preferred
  • Strong Communication Skills: Clear and professional written and verbal communication with venues and stakeholders
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple events and timelines at once
  • Negotiation Skills: Confidence in contract discussions and cost efficiency – in collaboration with the VP of Programming
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring venues meet all event needs and logistics are handled smoothly
  • Local Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with venues across the Phoenix metro area is a plus
