Debra J. Stevens serves as ACN’s executive director of Marketing and Communication in 2017 to build the Arizona Care Network brand and drive growth. Her skills are a perfect match for the position — she is a leader in translating organizational strategy into breakthrough action plans.
She previously was at the helm of marketing and communications programs supporting Arizona’s most visible brands, including Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the Phoenix Suns. In fact, her marketing career is a highlight reel of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
For more than10 years, Stevens served as director of Marketing and Communications for Phoenix Children’s, where she was instrumental in driving brand value and patient volume through multimedia marketing programs. Among her most memorable projects was communications for the hospital’s Valley-wide growth, including four urgent care centers, a new main tower and an expanded emergency and trauma center. She also presided over the marketing of PCH as a U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital.
Stevens’ impressive career also includes 13 years rising through the marketing leadership ranks at the Phoenix Suns, where she led marketing and communications for the opening of then-America West Arena and played a leading role in the legendary Phoenix Suns Western Conference Champions parade. During her tenure there, she served as executive director of Phoenix Suns Charities. Among her signature contributions was establishment of the foundation’s iconic $100,000 Playmaker Award and the Kevin Johnson Scholarship.
Stevens holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication from Arizona State University and an MBA in Marketing from University of Phoenix. She is a Valley Leadership Alumnus and was honored in the inaugural class of the Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. Today, she serves as a board member at the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley YMCA and with a variety of health causes locally and nationally.
